Islam regards all of mankind as the object of propagation. The book gives instructions with regard to preparing oneself as a da'i (caller to Islam). He or she should be equipped to deal with contemporary issues in the targeted community. In a plural community, the Muslim preacher should be extra cautious in conveying the message. He or she should engage in interfaith dialogue to seek common agreement in fighting evil tendencies in the community.
SOHIRIN M. SOLIHIN obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Birmingham. He is involved in da'wah activities around the country and his other contributions include his involvement in inter-religious dialogue, especially during his stint at the Islamic Foundation, Leicester, United Kingdom. He has published numerous articles and books, conducted research, and presented papers related to religious understanding and peaceful coexistence at national, regional, and international conferences.
